FARWELL — Evalynne Bell had a solid two-year varsity softball career for Farwell and closed it on a strong note as a senior.
Last year “was definitely a new experience,” she said. “I played left field which I had not played before and I did not play there this year. It was something I had to get used to. But it was fun.
“You have to track the ball. You have to be able to place yourself well.”
Bell was at second base this past season and indicated she preferred that position.
“I think it’s more fun in the infield and there’s more action.”
Bell had a hit in every at bat against Godwin each game.
“The key is timing yourself up,” she said. “You have to have confidence.”
Farwell had an improved season.
“The key was building each other up and encouraging each other,” Bell said.
She also ran cross country at Farwell but said softball was her favorite sport. “I will miss my team most. There were seven seniors this year. We’ve played with each other all our lives.”
