FARWELL — Walker Brown had a solid senior season for Farwell baseball in his third varsity campaign.
Going to the varsity level early on was a challenge, Brown noted.
“This year, I felt comfortable early on,” he said.
Brown played various positions for the Eagles and felt outfield was his best one.
“I’m good a reading the ball out there,” Brown said. “And I think I’m good at putting the ball in play when I’m at bat.”
He was able to run the ball down as an outfielder when it went down the gap.
Brown considers himself a singles oriented hitter.
He had a memorable double which was a key hit in a game. The standing rule of “keeping your eye on the ball” was his motto.
Farwell had a 16-20 record and a 7-0 win over Clare was a highlight.
Brown also played football and basketball with Farwell.
“I’ll miss the family connection with the guys,” he said.
