SH conducts meeting with hot dog picnic, marching band performance

Monday’s South Haven City Council meeting will be remembered as one of the most unique in its history. The Council continued a tradition of conducting one meeting a year in a city park featuring a hot dog picnic. This year it convened under the Huron Street Pavilion at Dyckman Park. Before Mayor Annie Brown called the meeting to order the South Haven High School Purple Pride Marching Band performed en masse, featuring their football game halftime show. In addition to their normal agenda the Council issued proclamations honoring longtime civic leader Jerry Gruber and South Haven Area Emergency Services on the occasion of its 30th anniversary.
