PAW PAW — Paw Paw senior Taylor Thorpe, who was a junior during the track and field season this past spriing, placed at the AAU Track and Field regional qualifier in two events at Flint Carmen Ainsworth.
Thorpe was 17th in the 100 meters in 12.66 seconds. She was 13th in the 200 meters in 25.60 seconds.
Both times were personal bests.
Thorpe was teamed with Alana Tracy, Natalie Schneider and Daelyn Jones in the 4×100 relay in the AAU qualifier but they did not finish.
Thorpe was among the Paw Paw girls track and field athletes who had strong seasons for the Red Wolves.
She was second the 200 meters in the Wolverine Conference meet in 25.82 seconds. She qualified for the state finals and had a personal record of 25.51 seconds to place sixth in that event.
