Mother Nature must be a true lover of old fashion hometown fairs. After one week of soaking the region with hit and miss storms the old lady brought out the sun just in time for the 2024 edition of the Marion Fair.
The first official fair of summer in the region officially got underway this past week at the historic Marion Fairgrounds/Veterans Memorial Park with Youth and 4-H members coming together in small animal, livestock and horse competition Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
In addition to action in the show arena, various other events took place throughout the grounds. On Wednesday the midway featuring several family fun rides opened and will continue through Saturday night.
In addition to rides and other events on the grounds, the last few days of the fair will feature:
The Large and Small Animal Market Sale at 6:00 p.m. Friday night in the livestock arena.
At 7:00 p.m. Friday night the Bump N Run Derby takes center stage,  On Saturday June 15th the ever-popular Figure 8 Derby wraps up the fair for another year.
