The Brian Baker era of Allegan boys basketball has officially started.
And a good start it was.
Baker, in his first season as coach for the Tigers, led Allegan to a 54-41 victory in the season opener against Comstock on Monday, Dec. 1.
The Tigers established an early lead, going up 19-11 after one quarter before taking a 30-21 lead to halftime.
“We controlled the game from the tip off and did not look back,” Baker said. “Our guys used their length to their advantage on both the offense and defense end of the court.”
The Tigers really put some distance between themselves and Comstock in the third quarter, as Allegan used a 17-6 edge to extend its advantage to 47-27.
“One of the goals for the game was to win the rebounding battle,” Baker said. “We did that, as we had multiple players reach double digits in rebounds.”
Braydon Kosiorowski led the offense charge with 20 points, followed by LJ Dial with 12 and Ayden Fusco with nine.
Agustin Delucas and Brandon Thrash added four points each, while Colby Bishop contributed three points.
