The Allegan girls swim & dive team hosted Wayland and Otsego on Tuesday, Sept. 23, and it was the Wildcats who had the best showing.
Wayland won 10 of the 12 events to post victories over the Tigers (82-56) and the Bulldogs (71-55). Otsego bested Allegan 75-63.
Laney Wolf, Sybil Williamson and Stella VanWyke led the Wildcats. Each won two individual events and were all part of the winning 200 medley and 200 free relay teams.
Wayland’s 200 medley relay team (2:01.95) also featured Kaeli Whip, while the 200 free relay team (1:46.68) also featured Kendra Moore.
Wolf won the 100 butterfly (1:00.73) and the 100 breaststroke (1:15.39); Williamson won the 200 free (2:14.04) and the 100 free (58.17); and VanWyke won the 50 free (27.61) and the 100 backstroke (1:07.62).
Others event wins for the Wildcats came from Ariana Longstreet in diving (206.45) and the 400 free relay team of Longstreet, Moore, Whip and Alayna Rookus (4:13.08).
Otsego had the other two event victories: Aubrey Smith in the 200 IM (2:29.77) and Hope Stender in the 500 free (5:45.14).
Allegan, meanwhile, had runner-up finishes in individual events from Eliza DeLaet in the 200 IM (2:30.6) and the 100 fly (1:07.6), Zoey Hammer in the 50 free (29.12) and Grace Kelley in the 500 free (6:23.11).
