The Paw Paw Fire Department Honor Guard, shown above, and the Lawton Fire Department Honor Guard, both assisted with the visitation and funeral service for Hamiliton Fire Department Chief David Haverdink on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 5 and 6. The funeral was held Tuesday, Jan. 6. at the Central Wesleyan Church, Holland. Haverdink died Dec. 25, from injuries he received Dec. 23, while responding to a medical call. He was struck by a passing vehicle on M-40 near 136th Avenue in Heath Township, Allegan County.
