Artists and lovers of fine art will converge on downtown Otsego once again for the annual Otsego Artisan Market on Saturday, June 22.
The market, hosted by Otsego Arts Council (a division of Together Otsego Prospers), runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the TOP Pavilion.
The TOP pavilion is located behind the police station right beside the river. Parking and admission for the event are free.
“This will be the third annual Otsego Artisan Market,” the Otsego Arts Council said in a press release. “Otsego Arts Council is excited to see this event grow and thrive from year to year.”
This year’s market is slated to feature nearly 40 local artists who specialize in a wide range of mediums.
Among those specialties are: photographers, woodworkers, quilters, fiber artists, authors, metalworkers and more.
Items for sale include artisan baked goods, jewelry, live plant art, chocolates, pottery and various paintings and illustrations by local artists such as Cathy Green Pottery, Eccentric Garden, Paisley Soul, Redbriar Studio, and Stassek Builds.
River Road Foods will also be selling grab-and-go food items.
The Artisan Market is one of many events the Otsego Arts Council hosts each year to help cultivate the growth of the arts in the area.
“The vision of Otsego Arts is to create, support and celebrate the arts in the wider Otsego community,” the press release said. “This includes hosting the Artisan Market annually as well as an art competition, curating the Art Garden in downtown Otsego and providing murals for the Otsego River Walk.”
This year, Otsego Arts Council will also be hosting a rock painting night as one of Otsego’s Summer Fun Nights on Tuesday, July 23.
The Otsego Arts Council encourages local artists of all kinds to participate in events and welcome them to join the council if interested.
“Other ways to get involved with the Otsego Arts Council include sponsoring an event or simply attending and helping to spread the word,” the press release said.
