Austionan explosive runner for Harrison

HARRISON — Clayten Austin had quite a productive season for Harrison as a running back and outside linebacker.
He was a sophomore in his first year on the varsity. Austen learned during the summer he would be playing on the varsity as a sophomore.
“I was happy and surprised about it,” Austin said.
His best game was 302 yards against St. Louis.
“I was just reading off the blocks,” Austin said. “The line was blocking really well.”
With his excellent speed, Austin was tough for opposing defenses to catch.
Harrison mainly relied on rushing for its offensive production.
Austin’s longest run from scrimmage was 77 yards was for a touchdown against. St. Louis. It was a simple up the middle run for a lot of yards.
“I feel good with any type of run,” he said. “Pinconning did a good job of stopping the up the middle run. So we went outside.”
Austin is a sprinter in track. He has personal records of 12.63 seconds in the 100 and 25;24 seconds in the 200.
