One sure sign it’s spring and summer time in Clare County is the arrival of antique, vintage and ultra-sleek modern cars and trucks. This past Monday afternoon and evening over 250 plus vehicles from across the State of Michigan and beyond turned Clare’s McEwan Street into a motor head paradise with the return  of the  Back to the Bricks Promo Tour for the first time since 2019.
The Back to the Bricks – Back Roads Promo Tour held June 7-12 2024 hit the road last Friday from Flint. Traveling  throughout Michigan with stops in Jackson, Cadillac, Clare and Port Huron.
In addition to incredible vehicles visitors and tour members were treated to music and singing by the band “Night Shift” as they checked many beautiful gems of the road.
Locals were encouraged and welcome to join in the fun when America’s Classic Car Tour arrived.
Each June the Back to the Bricks® Annual Promo Tour provides an opportunity of adventure and camaraderie for hundreds of classic car owners. The six-day tour is designed to do two things: (1) promote all Back to the Bricks® events, especially the August “Main Event” show held in downtown Flint, and (2) showcase each participating city’s unique features and foster economic development.
In addition to making stops in the select communities the tour has organized “Pit-Stops” along the way, where participants get to see the most picturesque cities that are not right off the expressway, but the backroads.
Often the top speed is 55 miles per hour which allows any vehicle to travel on the tour. In previous tours they have seen cars from every generation. Model T’s to Rat Rods, Convertibles to Trucks, Camaros to Corvettes, it’s truly a tour for everyone and every interest.
The next time a major tour will be in Clare is Thursday August 22, 2024 when the Historic Old US 27 tour makes its annual stop. The next day Friday August 23, the tour will stop in Harrison from 11a.m – 3 p.m. during the Annual Harrison Street Fair.
