Board thanks retiring Schooley, seeks new superintendent

The South Haven Public Schools Board of Education would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Superintendent Kevin Schooley for his many years of outstanding service to the district. Under his leadership, South Haven has made significant strides in enhancing student achievement, expanding programs, and fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
“Kevin’s dedication to our schools and community has left a lasting impact, and we thank him for his unwavering commitment to the success of our students and staff,” said Laura Bos. “We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”
With Superintendent Schooley’s departure, the Board is taking proactive steps to ensure a smooth transition. The district has contracted with the West Michigan Education Research and Development Foundation to conduct the search for the next superintendent.
As part of this process, the Board is seeking input from parents, staff, students, and community members on the desired characteristics and qualifications for the district’s next leader. All members of the SHPS school community are encouraged to share their thoughts and priorities by completing a brief survey at the following link: https://forms.gle/D3xS3XgBvTqTx2QE7.
