CA varsity picks up key win, finish week 1-1

Chambers 68, Cornerstone 36

Against Cornerstone on Tuesday, the Rebels captured a 25-8 lead in the first quarter, effectively shooting from the field and passing the ball inside as well. Brady Riley got the buzzer beater to end the half 45-18. The Rebels continued their shooting hot streak scoring another twenty points in the third quarter extending their lead 65-29, with a final score of 68-36.

Caden Hayley was the leading scorer with 27 points followed by Jordan Whaley with 11, Levi Waldrop with 10, Brady Riley with 7, TY Trammell with 4, and Jarquez Banks, Kross Colley, and Jordan Benbrook with 3 points each.

Chambers 69, Lakeside 32

Chambers recorded a big win in their first area game of the season taking on the Lakeside Chiefs. Kross Colley got the action started with a three pointer, and the Rebels did not slow down, ending the quarter up 17-7 over the Chiefs. TY Trammell, Brady Riley, and Levi Waldrop were all successful from the field with three pointers extending Chambers’ lead 40-20 at the half. The Rebels’ dominance did not waver posting a 53-28 lead at the end of the third period and a 69-32 performance to end the game.

Chambers 41, Lee-Scott 67

The Rebels ran into a speed bump in their week when they faced 3A Lee-Scott on Saturday. The Warriors jumped to a 7-26 lead in the first quarter. Chambers scored ten unanswered points to start the second period but then stalled going into the locker room down 19-40 at the half. A three pointer at the end of the third quarter by Jordan Whaley was a bright spot for the Rebels, but they couldn’t overcome the deficit as they fell 41-67.
