CLARE —Clare’s track teams competed in the Division 2 regional meet on May 16 in Cadillac in a bid to qualify for the state meet at Hamilton on May 31.
Petoskey won both divisions. Clare was fourth for the boys and ninth for the girls There were 15 boys teams and 14 girls teams.
Qualifying for the Clare boys were Logan Carstenson int he 110 hurdles, second at 15.38 seconds, Conan Weeks in the 300 hurdles, first in 39.83 seconds, Weeks, Dylan Kruskamp, Carstensen and Jacob Malick in the 4×100 relay, sixth 43.77, the 4×200 team, third in 1:30.39, Ethan Reeves in the pole vault, first at 13-8, Weeks inthe long jump, first at 21-9.5.
For the Clare girls, the 4×100 relay team of Hanna Goethe, Cara Heinz, Calaya Leonard and Abby Boyd was fifth in 51.38 and qualified as did the 4×400 team of Goethe, Sophia Buzzelli, Boyd and Lauren Leis, fifth in 4:12.07 and the 4×800 team, third in 10:03.69.
Catherine Taft is going in the pole vault. She was sixth at 9-3 and Boyd in the long jump was fifth in 16-4 to qualify.
