Clare Chamber adjusts office hours, reevaluates staffing

As many of our fellow local businesses are experiencing, the current economy is bringing new challenges and important decisions to the forefront. In light of these factors—and with a strong focus on serving our community in the best way possible—the Clare Area Chamber of Commerce will be adjusting its operating hours.
This change reflects several key factors:
A decrease in membership, which impacts staffing and operational support Evolving employee needs and work-life balance considerations
The increasing demand on time spent at evening events such as the Ruckles and Killcare Queen of Hearts drawings
Extensive planning and participation in upcoming community events like Summerfest, Lake Days, and other summer initiatives
The Chamber is also taking this time to re-evaluate their staffing structure. Dave Coker, the former Chamber Manager—one of three paid team members—previously tendered his resignation. The Board is now reassessing the role and responsibilities of this position to ensure sustainability.
The Clare Area Chamber is housed in the historic Clare Depot, and share The Depot with several volunteer-based groups and responsibility for its public hours is not solely the Chamber’s.
