Clare Hall of Fame adds new inductees

The new members into the Clare Athletic Hall of Fame are being inducted this fall.
Even organizer Doug Haggart said the inductees will be introduced on Sept. 13 at halftime of the varsity football game.
The induction will take place the next day at a brunch in the cafeteria. Tickets are $10 each and must be bought by Sept. 5. Checks must be made out to Clare Athletic Hall of Fame. A PayPal can be set up as well. People can contact Haggart at haggartdoug11@gmail.com or call his cell (989) 429-3942.
Tim Gibson: Graduated in 78, was school record holder in the long jump and was on the state championship 4×400 team who held the school record for 22 years. Ran track at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids.
Jeff Denton: Graduated in 83. tremendous 3 sport athlete, received all-state honors went on to play baseball at Alma College.
Brandon Youngblood: Graduated in 2002. All-State football lineman, 3rd his senior year in wrestling, losing only once.
James Wezensky: Graduated in 2012. football and basketball player, played basketball at Michigan Tech. Still in top 5 in MHSAA record books for blocks and rebounds.
Melissa Benchley Zinser: Graduated in 2013. Outstanding basketball and softball player played basketball at Mid Michigan College.
Lindsay Winter: Graduated in 2014. Lettered in 4 sports, all time leading basketball scorer at Clare (boys and girls). Played at Michigan Tech.
Doug Haggart: Coach and supporter.
