CLARE — The Clare Invitational took place on Wednesday at Mid Michigan Community College for cross country runners.
For Clare in the 5,000 meters 12th grade boys, it was a 24-31 win over Sanford Meridian.
Clayton Peacock (17:43.77) was first for Clare while Kona Crump was fourth (18:52.75), William Warner was sixth (19:29.93), Ian Letherer (20:16.13) was ninth and Cole Grundy (20:16.13) was 10th.
Kegan Terrain of Farwell was seventh (19:35.20).
For the 12th-grade girls. Olivia Forsberg of Clare was second (22:22.72) and Evalynne Bell was third (24:48.89). In the 11th grade boys race, Clare beat Saginaw Michigan Lutheran Seminary 23-32. Schmidt was second (17:54.30) and Klaus third (18;06.93) for the Clare boys. Villa Bilton was sixth (19:00.6) and Haupt seventh (19:29.19). Steele was 16th (22:25.98).
For Farwell boys, Peever was 15th (22:10;13).
For the 11th grade girls. Clare won 22-34 over Lutheran Seminary. Sophia Buzzelli was first for Clare (20;02.86) while Lauren Leis (21:34.64) was third and Elizabeth Letherer was fourth (22:29.65), Lily Fouts eighth (27:31.91) and Olivia Dubay 15th (42:58.61).
For Clare, Carter Chapman was fifth in the 5,000 meters 10th-grade boys race (22:22.44) For the 10th grade girls, Leah Leis (22:28.27). Emma Stotzel (22:51.58) and Ava Robinson (23:27.24) was fourth.
Clare had two boys in the ninth-grade race with Matthew Rodgers (19:02.32) in second and Cullen Gallagher in sixth (21:14.71). For the Clare ninth-grade girls. Alison Villa-Bilton was first (21:29.81) and Reagan Somers (27:24.91).
