CLARE — Clare track teams were 3-0 on April 30 in Jack Pine Conference dual meet action.
The boys scored wins over Ogemaw Heights 126.5-47.5; over St. Louis 144-25 and over Farwell 156-10.
Clare’s girl had wins of 124-45 over Ogemaw Heights, 127.5-31.5 over St. Louis and 129-40 over Farwell.
Taking firsts for the Clare boys were Jacob Halicek in the 100 meters (11.24) and 200 meters (22.92), Conan Weeks in the 110-meter hurdles (16.04), Donovan Hoogerhyde in the 300 hurdles (45.53), Brendan Burton, Calvin Clark, Adrian DeMateo and Andrew Garver in the 4×200 relay (1:35.42), Cole Grundy, Edward Higbee, Connor Lowe and Tucker Rowell in the 4×800 relay (9:34.22), Brendan Burton in the shot put (43-3.75), James Brown in the discus (130-5), Ethan Reeves in the pole vault (12-3) and Weeks in the long jump.
Taking firsts for Clare were Abby Boyd in the 100 meters (13.15), Sophia Buzzelli in the 200 meters (29.05), and 400 meters (1:04.29), Leah Leis in the 800 meters (2:33.40), Lauren Leis in the 1,600 meters (5:49.08), Relee Leguno, Relee Legodos, Relee Legotres and Relee Legoquatro in the 4×100 relay (52.89), and 4×200 relay (1:53.33), and the 4×400 relay 4:56.65), Catherine Taft in the pole vault (9-3), and Boyd in the long jump (150-11).
Clare’s girls track team scored two Jack Pine Conference wins in a Wednesday meet at Harrison, April 23.
Clare edged Shepherd 82.5-80.5 and beat Harrison 116-47.
The Clare boys beat Harrison 131-32 and lost to Shepherd 98.5-64.5.
For the Clare girls, Abby Boyd was second in the 200 meters (27.01), Hanna Goethe was second in the 400 meters (1:03.36), Sophia Buzzelli was first in the 800 meters (2:31.53), the 1,600 meters (5:33.96), and 3,200 meters (12:19.37); Brenna Campbell was second in the 300-meter hurdles (52.86). Relee Leguno, Relee Legodos, Relee Legotres and Relee Legoquatro was first in the 4×800 relay (11:29.89). Aleigha Finkbeiner (29-8) was second in the shot put, Catherine Taft was second in the pole vault (9-0) and Boyd was second in the long jump.
For the Clare boys, Jacob Halicek won the 100 meters (11.30) and 200 meters (23-0). Conan Weeks was first in the 110 meter hurdles (16,20) while Logan Carstensen was second (16.28) and Weeks won the 300-meter hurdles (40.43). Henry Tran, Collin Barber, James Brown and Ryen Inman won the 4×200 relay (1:33.98). Kage Greenfield was second in the shot put (40-11.5). Colin Barber was second in the discus (123-3).
Ethan Reeves won the pole vault (12-9).
