Consumers upgrades in Oshtemo may affect traffic

Consumers Energy is upgrading and installing new natural gas distribution pipelines along key corridors in Kalamazoo and Van Buren counties. These improvements are part of ongoing efforts to enhance the safety, reliability and capacity of the natural gas system in the region.
West Main Project (M-43 Corridor)
What: Installation of a new natural gas distribution pipeline in Oshtemo Township and the City of Kalamazoo
Where:
South side of M-43/West Main from US-131 to Drake Road
North side of M-43 from Drake Road to Kendall Avenue
When: Early April through late August
Traffic: Expect single-lane traffic shifts; no full road closures. Electronic signage along Stadium Drive will provide real-time traffic updates. This work is being coordinated with MDOT’s construc-tion between 10th Street and Drake Road along M-43 to help manage traffic flow.
Stadium Drive Project
What: Installation of a new natural gas distribution pipeline in Oshtemo and Texas Townships (Kalamazoo County) and Antwerp Township (Van Buren County)
Where: South side of Stadium Drive from 9th Street to Main Street (24th Street) in Mattawan
When: Early April through November
Traffic: Minimal disruptions are expected, with single-lane traffic shifts and no full closures. Electronic signs will be posted along Stadium Drive with up-to-date traffic information. Drivers should follow all construction signage and be cautious around crews.
