
Governor Gretchen Whitmer honored South Haven’s Bob Copping by presenting him the Governor George Romney Lifetime Achievement Award on Wednesday night during the Governor’s Service Awards celebration in East Lansing. Family and friends joined in the celebration.
Sponsored by the Michigan Community Service Commission, the award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to community involvement and volunteer service.
The founding president of the civic organization SHOUT for South Haven, Copping was recognized for his steadfast support of the community over several decades. “I accept this award with gratitude and with a renewed commitment to continue serving and giving back to the beautiful community of South Haven,” said Copping.
