David Alan Bell, 60, of Allegan, passed away June 7, 2022 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Born on August 6, 1961 to the late Ralph Loren and Joan Mae Bell (Linsner), Dave was the youngest of four children. Small in stature but big in heart, Dave was known for his auto mechanic abilities and his willingness to help anyone with their car troubles. Dave was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers and followed the team’s victories and struggles with a passion. Attending a Tigers game in 2013 at Comerica Park was a highlight for him. Dave was also very proud of his running accomplishments and participated in several 5K runs. In June of 1985, Dave’s son Bryan was born and became his greatest joy. Teaching Bryan to work on cars and taking him fishing with Papa provided them both with much happiness. In 2005, Dave was stricken with a stroke and began a long journey of life changing challenges. For the past 12 years, Dave lived at Blue Moon House in Allegan where the staff and other residents became his second family. Many thanks to Blue Moon staff for the loving care provided to David over the years.
Dave is survived by his son Bryan Bell of Allegan, sister Kathy (Jim) Stewart of Otsego, niece Miranda (Raj) Sharma of Allegan, nephew David (Courtney) Bell of Martinez, GA, niece Amanda (Dave) Vasquez of Zeeland, niece Katie (Alberto) Bell of Grand Rapids, niece Megan (Ryan) VanDyke of Seattle, WA, nephew Jason (Sara) Stewart of Grand Rapids, and nephew Aaron (Christine) Stewart of Grand Rapids, and several great nieces and nephews.
