Domestic Dispute Leads to Gun Lake Casino Crash

By Rita Williams

A Gun Lake Casino entrance now requires costly repairs after an early morning SUV crash on September 4, 2024.
A domestic dispute between the female driver and her male companion spawned the 2:30 AM crash into the southern entrance near the Shkodé Chophouse and Craft Bar Kitchen, facing towards 129th Avenue. Casino authorities described the damage as extensive, damaging both sets of doors as well as several slot machines. The vehicle made its way 10 feet into the building and was ultimately removed around 6:00 AM.
The male, and alleged target, as well as a security guard positioned near the door, received no injuries. The female driver was evaluated at a local hospital.
Gun Lake Casino staff remains committed to patron safety, seeking to prevent future mishaps. In an interview with WoodTV 8, Gun Lake Casino Vice President of Marketing Carter Pavey said, “We’ll be evaluating additional bollards and really need to investigate how she got around the bollards in the first place.”
He furthered, “This is one of those things that you can’t necessarily prevent (or) you can plan for. We were very fortunate, lucky, that no one was injured. Our team did a great job of responding quickly to ensure that the scene was clear.”
Gun Lake Casino remained open, with only the crash-area closed for repair.
