Downtown Allegan’s Bridgefest set for this weekend

The City of Allegan will host the annual Bridgefest celebration, a vibrant and fun-filled event taking place on Saturday, June 8, 2024. From 11 AM to 10 PM, Downtown Allegan will come alive with a day packed with activities, entertainment, and community spirit, all offered with no entry fee.
Tantalize your taste buds with a delectable selection of foods from various food trucks in addition to local restaurants and social district offerings. Car enthusiasts will be in for a treat with a stunning cruise-in organized by Hairworks 404, showcasing an impressive lineup of classic and custom vehicles. Explore the colorful and creative Bridgefest Art Market hosted by The Sassy Olive, featuring unique, handcrafted goods from talented local artists and artisans.
For the young and young at heart, the Allegan District Library is sponsoring an array of inflatables near Hanson Park that promise endless bouncing fun. Throughout the day, the air will be filled with the sounds of live music from the Riverfront Stage.
Allegan’s own Kitten and the Tonics will open for Grand Rapids’ premier party band, Funkle Jesse, ensuring a lively atmosphere that will keep you dancing all evening long.
Thrill-seekers can look forward to the excitement of three carnival rides, including a spectacular 40’ Ferris Wheel offering breathtaking views of the city and the Kalamazoo River. Plus, the free splash pad will be open all day, providing a perfect spot for kids to cool off and have a blast.
In addition to the festivities, the Allegan County Historical Society is marking a significant milestone—70 years of preserving local history. Join them at noon for a special dedication at the Old Jail Museum, celebrating their remarkable journey. Bridgefest is also the perfect opportunity to explore the newly renovated Downtown Allegan streetscape. Enjoy shopping and dining at local establishments, many of which will offer special sales and promotions throughout the day, adding to the festive atmosphere.
