Downtown Paw Paw shooting injures four

PAW PAW – Four individuals were shot during an exchange of gunfire Saturday night, April 16, in a parking lot located behind Sporty’s Pub, 126 E. Michigan Ave., here, according to a press release from the Village of Paw Paw Police Department.
Police Chief Eric Marshall said investigators are still trying to piece together exactly what occurred. “Investigators are confident that two of the injured parties were directly involved in the altercation,” said Marshall. As of Monday, individual names had not been released.
Marshall said anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Michigan State Police at (269) 657-5551 or the Paw Paw Police Department at (269) 657-5501.
The Michigan State Police is the lead agency in the investigation along with the Paw Paw Police Department.
Also assisting at the scene were the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office and the Mattawan Police Department.
The incident remains under investigation.
