GOBLES — At its organizational meeting earlier this month, the
newly-seated Board of Commissioners (BOC) elected Gale Dugan of Otsego TownshipC to chair the body and Scott Beltman, as vice chair.
Both were elected to one-year terms in their respective posts. In an interview after his election, Dugan reflected on the local government legacy handed down from his grandfather and father.
He said he is looking forward, he wants to maintain the cohesiveness of the BOC and help provide the framework for the administration to do its job operating the county government. Among the board’s accomplishments, Dugan pointed to the renovations of the courthouse and the county services building to improve service delivery for residents.
He also pointed to improvements in the county animal shelter’s operations, planned updates for the county’s medical care facility, and the smooth functioning of the health department.
Beltman continues in the vice chair role he held in the 2023-2024 BOC contingent.
