LAWRENCE – Marking the 100th anniversary year of Lawrence Boy Scout Troop 197, an Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held for three of its members at the Lawrence United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 22.
The three include Nickolas Barr, Eric Blocker, and Nathan Hagger.
Barr’s project was building food carts for the food pantry of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bangor. He completed the project June 8, 2022, however, due to COVID-19, Barr was never honored during an Eagle Scout Court of Honor.
Blocker’s Eagle Scout project was building a ceremonial flag retirement pit for the Hartford American Legion. He completed the project on Sept. 18, 2025.
Hagger’s project was building two wooden benches and two handicap accessible wooden picnic tables for the North Branch Paw Paw River Park, Lawrence.
The trio joins a long list of Lawrence Eagle Scouts, beginning in 1941. Barry Carpp, Scoutmaster from 2009 to 2013, Lawrence Boy Scout Troop 197, compiled the following Lawrence Boy Scout Troop 197 Eagle Scout members. They include the following:
