FARWELL – “Some huge mistakes in the 2nd quarter led to the game getting away from us,” Farwell coach Travis Waddell said after his team’s Friday 48-10 loss to Beaverton.
Beaverton scored first on a QB run that went 55 yards for a TD. After a turnover on downs by Farwell, Beaverton would put a drive together but ultimately would stall out on the Beaverton 30 yard line. A blown coverage led to a Beaverton TD, Beaverton would then recover an onside kick and later a fumble that would all lead to Touchdowns for Beaverton to make the score 35-0. Farwell drove the ball down to the Beaverton 8 yard line before running out of time to keep the score 35-0 at half.
Farwell would play much better in the second half. Giving up only one TD to Beaverton’s offense (the other came on a kickoff return for a TD) Farwell would get on the board in the 4th on a touchdown pass from Brent Ellul to Walker Brown. The eagle Defense would also cause a safety making the final score 10-48
Brent Ellul went 10-14 passing for a 155 yards and a TD. He added 68 yards on the ground. Zane Hanna had 41 yards rushing and Dylan Mitchel had 42 yards receiving. Farwell had 291 yards of total offense
