FARWELL — Karleigh Ames was a senior for Farwell’s basketball team during the winter in her first year of varsity basketball.
“It was a spur of the moment decision,” Ames said.
But she and her teammate were happy she decided to come out.
Ames played the wing position for Farwell at either the No. 2 for 3 slot.
She was there to be a scorer and had to handle the basketball.
“I’m pretty good at seeing what’s open,” Ames said.
Ames was able to contribute points. Farwell’s only win came late in the season, 37-22 against Carson City-Crystal.
“I’d say we improved pretty well,” Ames said.
She also played volleyball and is looking forward to to he softball season.
She said softball is her best sport and she plays shortstop or center field. The season could be a challenge for the Eagles who graduated some key seniors.
