FARWELL — Anthony Amerson was a first-year wrestler for Farwell who picked up some valuable experience as a freshman.
He was also in football and said early in the season he was eager to test out his talents in another sport.
Amerson said he found the challenges of the sport to be very unique.
“Even if you’re losing, you have to try to get back up,” he said. “You have to try to be more athletic.”
Amerson said coming into the season, he felt escapes and reversals would be among his best moves. He was ready to face the challenge of wrestling, being one-on-one with an opponent without any additional help.
Football and wrestling have been Amerson’s two main sports at Farwell. He’s looking forward to three more years.
