FARWELL — Farwell wrestling coach Ryan Butler continues his efforts to build a solid wrestling program at the school.
It’s a busy slate of wrestling coming u for the Eagles who are at the Lakeview varsity Wrestling Invitational on Jan. 11 and will then have home matches on Jan. 15 with St. Louis and Shepherd.
Farwell wrestlers are Illia Kryvento at 113, Millie Mcaulay at 113, Elliot Vasquez and Lexi Vincent at 138, Jeremy Tigner at 144, Laney Stover at 150. Tyrek Thrush and David Dean at 157, Kyle Mcaulay at 175, Cooper Stover at 190, Robert Hunt at 215 and Leland Tigner at 285.
Kryvemkop , Vasquez, Stover, and Mcaulay are seniors; Vincent, Leland Tigner, Thrush, Dean, Hunt and Jeremy Tigner are juniors, Mcaulay, and Stover are sophomores.
Clare wrestled in the Freehand Invitational on Dec. 28. Bryson Hernandez (138) won int he semifinals over Evan Lynch of Freeload 21-4 but lost in the first-place match to Ethan Moreland of Three Rivers 4-1
Devin Wheeler (126) won in the semifinal round to James Bellville of Davison in 1:33. He lost 10-0 to Jan Monroe of Three Rivers in the title match.
Ryan Moreno (132) lost in the finals to Nolan Cunningham of Freeland 6-5
