FARWELL — Ryan Cutler is confident of having a strong first year as Farwell’s wrestling coach.
But as a new skipper for the Eagles, Cutler is waiting himself to see what the Eagles will be looking like this season.
“I want to start building the program back,” Cutler said. “We’re small, but it’s a strong group of kids.”
Getting more numbers is a key thing for the program, Cutler said. As for the conference race, “unfortunately we don’t have the numbers to compete but we will go down fighting.”
Cutler expects Bobby Hunt to be among the team’s top wrestlers. He’s at 215 pounds.
Other Farwell wrestlers, as provided by the Track Wrestling website are Illia Kryvenko (113), Millie Mcauley (113), Elliot Vasquez (138), Jeremy Tigner (144), Laney Stover (150), Tyrek Thrush (157), David Dean (157), Kylar Mcaulay (175), Cooper Stover (190), Leland Tigner (285) and Steven Abbott (285).
This marks the first week wrestling teams were eligible to compete against other opponents. The Eagles will also work toward having wrestlers do well in the team and individual districts in February after the regular season ends.
