ANTWERP TWP. – A 64-year-old Lawton woman was killed Thursday afternoon, June 12, in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Antwerp Township, according to a press release from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s office.
Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel Abbott said that at approximately 3:30 p.m., Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash at M-40 Highway, near 64th Avenue, Antwerp Township. Upon deputies’ arrival, one of the vehicle occupants was found to be unresponsive. She was extricated from the vehicle and life saving measures were attempted. However, the female driver succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
A juvenile passenger in that vehicle was transported to Bronson Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was also transported to Bronson Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
