GOBLES — Gobles softball season came to a close with a 23-7 record with a 13-2 loss to Mendon in the district finals.
Erica Barber took the loss for Gobles in the pitcher’s circle, with 10 hits. Riley Johnson, Erica Barber and Daisy Jackson had two hits. Jackson had an RBI.
The previous week, Gobles was 2-0 in its district to winch title. The Tigers beat Marcellus 11-2 and Hackett Catholic Prep 7-5.
Jackson collected five hits in five at bats in the win over Marcellus. She hit a home run to center field in the third inning, singled in the first and singled in the fourth.
Erica Barber earned the pitching win, allowing five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five and walkingone. Gobles had 18 hits. Barber and Jackson drove in three runs apiece.
In the title game, Kylee Killeen was the winning pitcher allowing eight hits and four runs over 6.1 innings.
Barber pitched in relief. Offensively Barber had two hits. Killeen had three hits. Gobles had 11 hits overall.
