Each year, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office submits several incidents to the Michigan Sheriffs’ Association (MSA) for consideration by the voting committee. This year, at the recently held MSA Conference, Sergeant Paul Graham, far left, was awarded the MSA Distinguished Service Medal for his heroic, life-saving actions during a house fire. The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office said of Graham’s award, “Truly outstanding work and bravery.” Sgt. Graham is shown with Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel Abbott, center, and at far right, Undersheriff Casey Davis. Sheriff Abbott was named the MSA Sheriff of the Year.
