Haven marked National Night Out with an event that attracted hundreds to the downtown the downtown pavilion. Law enforcement and fire/EMS agencies were joined by several community organizations. The Van Buren Sheriff horse unit joined in the fun and more than 50 kids received bike safety helmets from Safe Kids Bronson Hospital – South Haven and the Rotary club of South Haven. There were free hot dogs and ice cream! National Night Out is intended to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while creating opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
