I&M suspends service disconnections in Three Rivers through end of March

THREE RIVERS — In response to the tornadoes that passed through March 6 in Three Rivers, Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) said in a release Thursday it would suspend service disconnections in the Three Rivers area through March 31.

“Our hearts are with everyone impacted by the storm in the community. We were committed to restoring power safely and quickly and now we will stand with our customers and employees in that community to assist with power needs as they rebuild,” Katie Runkle, I&M’s vice president of external affairs and customer experience, said in the release.

The company said it would suspend the disconnections as a way to “prevent further hardship while our customers recover.” They will evaluate and determine next steps on April 1.

I&M customers who need help with their bills or need to report a hazard are asked to call 1-800-311-4634.
