Indivisible Paw Paw marks one-year of protests with third No Kings rally

On Saturday, March 28, in Paw Paw, the local Indivisible group marked its one-year anniversary of hosting peaceful protests at the same time joining millions of Americans in an organized day of action for the third No Kings event. The rally started at Maple Lake Amphitheatre with music provided by The Great Lakes Brass, a New Orleans-style second line brass band. Speaking briefly at the event were Michigan Sen. Sean McCann-D and Diop Harris, both of whom are vying for the 4th District U.S. Congressional seat; and Daniel Oropeza with the United Farm Workers Foundation. An estimated 450 people attended the event. A total of $255 was collected for Eleanor’s Pantry and $65 for Decatur Human Services. Courier-Leader photos/Paul Garrod
