Irvin “Skip” Clifford, Jr., 60, of Allegan, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 8, 2022 in Allegan, Michigan. Born May 21, 1962 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he was the son of the late Irvin Sr. and Jacqueline (Brabon) Clifford and the husband of Brenda (Reed) Clifford. Irvin, known to most as Skip, was an amazing husband, father and papa. He was lucky enough to marry and spend nearly 40 years with the love of his life, Brenda. Skip worked in Quality Assurance for over 20 years at Murco, then for Allegan County up until his retirement. After retirement, he worked part-time at Enviro Clean Service in Allegan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but loved spending time with his family more than anything. Skip was dedicated to his family and his favorite times were these last years of his life being a full-time babysitter for his grandkids. His heart was full of love for them and being there to provide and support them as much as he could. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy and taught them so much of sharing oneself with others. His spirit will live on in each of them.
Left to cherish his memory, are his loving wife, Brenda; children, Kristy (Martin) Schaner, Amber (Philip) MacEachron, and Irvin Trey (Samantha) Clifford, III; three siblings, Becky (Phillip) Zuydwegt, Tina (Dan) Lynch, and Ruth (Ron) Young; and his six much loved grandchildren, Martin “Trip” Schaner, III, Waylon MacEachron, North MacEachron, Colton Schaner, Saxon Schaner and Addison Clifford.
The family received friends at Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, on Monday, June 13, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at which time the funeral service began at 5:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made in Skip’s name to The Bridge, 247 N Main St, Allegan, MI 49010. The family wishes to thank their family and friends for the outpouring of love and support that they have received during this most difficult time.
