Everybody loves a good mystery – especially if it involves a little bit of naughtiness.
That’s what we have with a story that has been circulating for the past week in Covert Township and South Haven.
The South Haven Beacon first heard about it on Saturday, October 11, 2025, when a friend sent us a copy of what purports to be a newspaper article dated October 9, 2025. The article states that an internal investigation is taking place at the “Palisades Nuclear Station” of an incident involving six laborers and a supervisor and “inappropriate conduct” that took place inside the nuclear power plant.
The gist of the anonymous newspaper story goes on to allege that Palisades discovered glitter on the floor of a section of the plant and a subsequent investigation found that a female employee, who had previously been a professional dancer, was removing her clothes and dancing for the enjoyment – not to mention – dollar bills for several co-workers and their supervisor. This resulted in the termination of all employees who were involved.
The friend who brought it to our attention said, when questioned about the authenticity of the incident, that a Holtec employee confirmed that this happened.
By October 12, 2025, a posting appeared on Facebook where various people commenting on the article questioned whether it was a hoax or real. However, at least two people who commented on the Facebook posting said they knew someone who worked at Palisades and that those Palisades employees verified that the alleged behavior did occur.
On Monday, October 13, the Beacon reached out to Holtec for a comment. Nick Culp, who is Senior Manager for Government Affairs and Communications, responded by email saying: “We are aware of a rumor alleging inappropriate behavior involving contract workers at the Palisades site. The company takes these matters seriously. An internal review is underway, and our labor contractor is also conducting its own investigation. Behavior of this alleged nature is contrary to our values as nuclear professionals and to the standards we uphold for everyone working at our site. Because this is an ongoing personnel matter, we will not comment further at this time.”
Did the incident really happen? Were employees and a supervisor dismissed as a result of inappropriate behavior? The Beacon is still waiting for someone to go on record and confirm that this happened. As the Beacon goes to press on Tuesday, October 14, we continue to try to find someone who has firsthand knowledge to come forward and state that this is just a salacious rumor – or that it realty happened.
In the meantime, the Beacon has several questions for any reliable source: Was glitter really found on the floor of a Palisades facility? Was a pole constructed for strip dancing? And what kind of credentials did a former “professional dancer” have that she was working at Palisades?
Our investigation continues.
