On Sept 14th, at the JCI USA Annual Meeting in Cleveland Ohio, Landria Johnson was the recipient of a Ten Outstanding Young Americans Award. This is a highly prestigious award given to ten individuals between the ages of 18-40 by JCI (Junior Chamber International) USA.
Landria, who is a member of the Allegan Jaycees, was nominated by fellow member Kayleigh Gratz for the Business/Entrepreneurship category. She was selected not only for her entrepreneurial success as the owner of The Sassy Olive, but for her advocacy, service, and dedication to her community.
Gratz, member and past president of the Allegan Jaycees, was elected to serve as JCI Michigan’s 101st President. Her inauguration took place at the JCI Michigan Fall Conference on Sept 28th in Sault Ste. Marie. She is the first member from the Allegan Jaycees to serve as State President, which is notable as Allegan is one of the oldest chapters in Michigan. Her term as president will begin on Jan 1st 2025.
The Allegan Jaycees are celebrating their 85th Anniversary this year. The chapter was chartered on July 26th 1939. The chapter will be holding an Anniversary Celebration on Nov 10th at the Griswold’s Marilla Room at 3pm. Hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. Any past and present members of the Allegan Jaycees or the Allegan Jaycees Auxiliary are welcome to attend.
