LaFayette hosted its 1st annual Juneteenth block party celebration. The celebration was hosted on the National Holiday Juneteenth Day on Wednesday June 19th.
The day started out in downtown LaFayette behind Krave Korner restaurant.
The DJ was on the ones and twos keeping everyone on the dance floor with line dancing and different vendors offering purses, natural body and hair products, jewelry, t-shirts, and etc.
There was great food with a BBQ cook off, frying of fish by host Krave Korner.
nachos, popcorn, chili fries and all type of sweets treats.
Farmers market vendors with their home raised fresh corn, pepper jellies, jams and etc. were also displaying.
The kids enjoyed a bouncy house, 4 in a row connect games, a selfie booth and free watermelon all day sponsored by Chosen Generation Worship Center Intl.
Mayor of Lanett Jamie Heard stopped in to help celebrate the day along with the Chambers County School District candidates for superintendent Sharon Weldon and Winford Ashmore.
