Chambers rocketed to a big 17-3 lead in the first quarter with Jacob Norgard and Grey Hayley both recording three point baskets. The Rebels continued to dominate in the second quarter, this time, working the ball inside and down low and going into halftime leading 28-6.
The Rebels struggled to score in the second half but managed to keep a 32-11 at the end of three periods of play and recorded a final score of 34-21.
Jacob Norgard was the leading scorer with 12 points followed by Grey Hayley with 11, Drew Sheppard with 4, Orion Trammell with 3, and Luke Tarver and Colton Fuller with 2 points each.
JV Rebels 47, Lakeside 43
The JV Rebels hosted Lakeside for the second game last week. Chambers jumped out to a six point lead, but the Chiefs tied it up. Jacob Norgard then hit the three pointer to get back on top. Drew Sheppard then added to the lead with a steal and basket to end the first quarter with the Rebels up 15-9. Orion Trammell controlled the boards in the second period, maintaining the lead of 24-18 at the half.
Lakeside came out hot in the second half cutting the Rebel lead to just one point, but Chambers was able to take back control of the game 34-23 by the end of the third. However, the Chiefs once again rallied to take the lead midway through the 4th quarter. A Grey Hayley basket tied the game up at 41 each with less than two minutes left in the game and the JV Rebels pulled through in the end to take the win 47-43.
Drew Sheppard was the leading scorer with 15 points followed by Orion Trammell with 13, Grey Hayley with 9, Jacob Norgard with 6, and Luke Tarver with 4.
JV Rebels 23, Lee-Scott 54
The JV Rebels recorded their first loss of the season in the final game of a three game week as they faced the Lee-Scott Warriors. Lee-Scott sped to a lead of 6-15 in the first quarter. Most of the Rebels’ points came off free throws in the first half as they were in the double bonus for most of the second quarter, and they ended the half still trailing 15-29.
The Warriors were able to maintain a fourteen point lead throughout the third quarter. Lee-Scott then got hot from the three point line in the 4th while the Rebels struggled to get their shots to fall with the final score being 23-54.
Luke Tarver was the leading scorer with 9 points followed by Orion Trammell with 8. Jacob Norgard, Grey Hayley, and Peyton Yerta recorded 2 points while Jonathan Caulfield and Drew Sheppard had 1 point each.
