By Jody Stewart

The Vision that the “Vison LaFayette” group had is now a reality and LaFayette has received a MainStreet designation. The citizens of LaFayette will soon see the presence of MainStreet in town. Chris Busby address city Council Monday and explained that soon there will be a big event and a press conference for the public.

Busby, “This is one of the most exciting things to happen in LaFayette that I have been a part of. This is going to be a big undertaking for the city. A lot of people and volunteers have done a lot to get us here, moving forward it is going to be even more intensive and we are going to need the city council’s support. We are going to all be on the same page fighting for our city to grow and to make the most of the amazing opportunity.”

Mainstreet will be coming to LaFayette to help set up the organizational aspect of the organization and conducting a work session. The work session is to help set up a board, work on the tax status of the group, create by laws, create a budget among other things.

Jimmy Stewart Vision LaFayette Coordinator, “The journey has just begun. The opportunities to help us grow and prosper are many and I am encouraging everyone to get involved in what will be a fun, game changing experience in seeing our community and City grow and prosper. It’s not about where we are, it’s all about where we can go together in transforming our city and community into a flagship Mainstreet Designation. So imagine what it could be, dream big, get involved, we are all in this together, let’s make it happen.

Volunteers are still needed, and everyone is encouraged to get involved. Meetings are open to anyone please follow our Vision LaFayette Facebook page for information and message us with any questions, concerns or ideas.
