Marion competed in the recent Onekama Invitational.
The boys finished fourth out of nine teams.
“We had a good performance overall on a good weather day,” Marion coach Jason Keeler said. “It was prime time for a track meet. James Williams won the shot with a throw over 40 feet for the first time this season. Braden Prielipp won the long jump and high jump. Braden was runner up in the 200 meters and Cole Meyer in the discus.
PR performances from came from: James Williams: 100m, shot put; Braden Prielipp: 200m; Cole Meyer: 200m; Mason Cruson: 200m, discus, long jump; Isiah Peterson: 400m, 3200M;mMason Howell: 1600m; Parker Sosa-Kibby:1600m; Logan Nobles: long jump
In WMD Jamboree No. 2 at Mason County Eastern: The Marion guys finished second for the second jamboree in a row.
“We had some solid performances and did outstanding in the field events but still just fell short,” Keeler said. “Our field event performances far outscore everyone else but our running depth just doesn’t quite match up with MCE and they just straight up out ran us in a few key head to head matchups.
“Our 4x100m team of Cole Sosa-Kibby, Mason Cruson, James Williams, and Dru VanEpps won the race in addition to James Williams taking the shot, Cole Meyer the disc and pole vault, and Braden Prielipp the long jump and high jump.”
