Feeding America’s Summer food program for students under age 18, will be partnering with the Marion Area District Library to provide free meals from June 3, 2024, through the week of August 5, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Any kids under 18 are eligible and the Marion Area District Library is thrilled to partner with Feeding America on this excellent program!
Don’t forget the Summer Reading Program kicks off in June as well, beginning with a special guest to read a story to the kids on June 21: our very own mermaid! This special reading will be at 1 p.m. From building your own solar oven to family board game night, bubble science, and so much more, families should be sure to make time to plan in a weekly library visit…and of course, there are the many new books arriving every month to keep both adults and kids busy “traveling” to distant places.
The Marion Spinning Guild – yes, the same type of spinning wheel Rumpelstiltskin used not the bikes for exercise class! – meets on the first Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. in the library conference room. Everyone is welcomed and if you’d like further information, call Ann Spear at 231-743-9607.
