The Marshall High School boys and girls cross country teams won the Calhoun County Invitational at home Saturday.
The Redhawks placed all five runners in the top 10 at Turkeyville in both of the 5K races.
Here are results from last week’s cross country conference events and invitationals.
Boys Cross Country
Olivet Invitational : Northwest finished seventh and Springport eighth at the Olivet Invitational. Silas Shepherd was fifth overall in 17:45 for Northwest and Aidan Bradley was 17th overall in 18:28.
Portage Invitational: Lumen Christi won the boys’ Division 3 race with 89 points, Hanover-Horton was fifth scoring 208, and Grass Lake was 21st. Isaiah Dinverno finished third individually (15:51) for the Titans, Landen Boulis of Hanover-Horton placed seventh (16:05), Lumen Christi runner Leo Swager was right behind him (16:15), and Cooper Flick of Hanover-Horton was 10th (16:22). Western finished 18th as a team in the boys’ D-2 race as Edison Lopeman finished third overall (15:29) and Ryan Good placed 45th (16:41). Concord finished 11th at the Division 4 boys race scoring 322 points.
Calhoun County Invitational: The Redhawks won the invitational at Turkeyville with a team total of 26. Marshall posted all five runners in the top 10 as Reece Davis was second (16:48), Abraham McHugh ran third (16:49), and Jack Bidwell was fourth (16:50) for the Redhawks.
Napoleon Tri-Meet: Napoleon High School won the event with 19 points and Michigan Center finished second scoring 37. Jamison Swope won the 5K event in 18:05, Dallas Swaenepoel of Vandercook Lake was second at 18:07, and Brayden Pepper of Michigan Center finished third with a time of 21:16.
Big Eight at Union City: Concord finished one point behind Quincy for third place and Springport was fifth in the Big Eight Conference jamboree. Paul Herendeen of Concord finished seventh (18:42), teammate Maddox Hutchinson was 10th (18:50), and Aidan Bradley of Springport finished 14th (19:17).
Charlotte Country Mill Classic: Homer finished sixth, Jackson Prep was eighth, and Northwest placed ninth at the event. John Edler of Homer finished sixth (16:31), Drew Clingerman of Northwest was 16th (17:19), and Corey Dubnicki of Jackson Prep placed 28th (17:54).
Girls Cross Country
Hudson Invitational: Gabby Gaydosh of Columbia Central finished 33rd in the upper division race (23:16) and Priya Mericle of East Jackson was 27th in the lower division race (23:07).
Olivet Invitational: Chloe Khon of Northwest High School was fourth overall in 20:46.
Portage Invitational: Lumen Christi placed fifth in the girls’ D-3 race with 237 points, Grass Lake finished 12th (380), and Hanover-Horton was 20th with 527 points. Maisey Toteff of Hanover-Horton finished 21st individually (19:47), Macy Fazekas of Lumen Christi was 31st (20:28), and Adalyn Jarchow of Grass Lake placed 34th (20:32). Western placed 28th in the girls’ D-2 race with 762 points.
Calhoun County Invitational: Leah McPartlin finished second in the event for Marshall with a time of 20:30, Alaina Dillon was fifth in 21:23, and Savannah Richmond finished sixth in 21:28. The Redhawks won the event by having all five runners in the top 10 at the event.
Napoleon Tri-Meet: Napoleon won the meet taking all of the top five spots over Michigan Center. Madisyn Lindemann won the event in 22:14 and Makenzy Lindemann was second running 22:33 for the Pirates. Jadea Stevens led MCHS with a sixth-place finish in 28:12.
Big Eight at Union City: Concord finished fourth (93) and Springport sixth (164) at Union City. Haley Stimer finished sixth (21:46) and Cieara Barrett placed 11th (22:40).
Charlotte Invitational: Leslie easily won the event with 35 points and Homer scored 182 placing sixth. Chloe Khon of Northwest finished fifth overall in 19:54. Sophie Patrick of Homer finished 32nd overall in 22:59.
