Redding Township’s Board of Trustees has experienced numerous hurdles since just before the recall election several years ago, something that has continued and at times, gotten worse, since that recall purged many members. At the regular Redding Township meeting on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, three of the elected officials stepped down, resigning as of September 30, 2025, including Township Clerk Trisha Martin, Trustee Christopher Martin, and newly trained Township Treasurer James Kaminski, all of whom tendered their resignations. The total number of three resignations is over half the voting board, but all three promised to vote in their replacements if Township Supervisor Billlie Wrubel was able to find candidates for those positions.
The tumultuous board meetings in Redding Township pitted residents in attendance against relatively newly elected members. Trisha Martin ran unopposed in November last year, and two other board members resigned in May of this year, Treasurer Kathy Schreiner and husband, Trustee Lou Schreiner. Lou was replaced by Christopher Martin and Kathy’s position was filled by James Kaminski.
Kaminski didn’t hold anything back when he explained why he is resigning.
“To be frank, it’s insufferable,” he started when he gave his reasons to the audience, “This is impossible to do, it’s all negativity, negativity, negativity. No positive feedback. I dread coming to meetings and I just can’t do it anymore!”
That feeling was shared by both Christopher Martin and Trisha Martin, the latter of whom has been the butt of recent recall signs in the township. At the June meeting, Trisha begged those in attendance to run for office if they are not satisfied, again, reiterating she ran unopposed in 2024.
The newest trustee, Brooke Daniels, was shocked and visibly upset about the resignations.
“We are gonna miss all you guys,” she said directly to Martin and Kaminski, “I am very upset by this and sad to see them go.”
Trustee Kaminski made the motion to accept Christopher’s resignation, and Trustee Martin made the motion to accept Clerk Martin’s resignation as well as Trustee Kaminski’s resignation. This takes the current board down to Township Supervisor Billie Wrubel and Trustee Daniels. Wrubel said she may know someone who expressed an interest in serving as a Trustee to replace Christopher Martin, but the township will be accepting letters of intent from anyone interested in the Clerk’s position or the Treasurer’s position.
