McBain girls get road win at Shepherd

The McBain girls basketball team left conference play to take on host Shepherd Monday night. The results were the same though, as the Lady Ramblers kept their perfect record intact with a convincing 69-32 victory.
It was a slim 14-12 lead after the first quarter, but the Ramblers made it 34-19 at the half and 46-26 entering the fourth.
Kahli Heuker led the team with 12 points, Ella Schroder and Analiese Fredin had 10 points each and Taylor Benthem put in eight.
On Thursday, Jan. 7 McBain played a road Highland Conference game at Pine River, where it won 67-43.
The Ramblers were able to take a 21-6 lead after the opening quarter and pushed that gap to 44-18 at the half and 53-26 entering the fourth.
Emma Schierbeek had a career high 30 points, Caitlin Butzin and Fredin added eight points each and Heuker netted six points.
McBain (7-1 overall, 5-0 Highland) heads to Houghton Lake tonight (Friday) and takes on Lake city at home on Tuesday.
