McBain superintendent hopes to better student achievement

MCBAIN – Mc Bain superintendent Scott Akom told the school board, at its September meeting, goals for the school year were to increase student achievement in reading and math and have a Safety officer position.
Little Wheels numbers are looking good with three classrooms, he added.
The board extended congratulations to coach Bruce Koopman for making the high school Basketball Hall of Fame.
The middle school gave an update on higher numbers.
The high school reported a dual enrollment of 37 total students.
The board approved the School Safety Officer Resolution as presented and voted to accept the hire recommendation of Jacob Foutch, school security officer as presented.
The board voted to accept the hire recommendation of Emily Darby, library parapro and hire Alexis Reid, community library aide.
Also approved was the District Health Department No. 10 Agreements and Services Program as presented.
The district voted to hire Bonnie Schripsema and Jackie Soltman as preschool assistants.
Also hired was Megan Gladu as seventh grade volleyball coach.
The board voted to approve to reinstate to McBain Schools, a student, based on the recommendation of the instatement committee.
