Michigan Flywheelers to hold antique engine and tractor show

By James Windell

It’s a show that is in part a living history museum, part community festival, and part flea market. But the Michigan Flywheelers Antique Engine and Tractor Show will be a place to relive the past with hundreds of restored engines and tractors, live demonstrations, entertainment and the atmosphere of a county fair.
Held on Thursday, September 4 through Sunday, September 7, 2025, the show takes place on the grounds of The Michigan Flywheelers Museum in South Haven.
According to Michigan Flywheelers Board President Patrick Ingalls, this year’s show will be the 42nd annual show. “People from all over this side of the state and even from Indiana and Ohio will come to the event with tractors and engines,” Ingalls said. “We are one of the largest engine and tractors shows in the state and as many as 600 tractors will be on display at the show.”
The Michigan Flywheelers Museum, Ingalls said, started out as a club and has become a museum. “And we’ve been doing our parade and show since 1984,” he pointed out.
Among the events of the four-day show will be a shingle mill and a sawmill demonstration, a parade of tractors, a square dance, and an antique tractor pull. “We’ll have tractor pulls, sawmill demonstrations, blacksmiths, and garden tractor pulls,” Ingalls emphasizes. “Every day of the show there will be a tractor parade on the grounds.” He also said that the entertainment will include a magician, bands that will be playing on Friday and Saturday night, and a kid’s nighttime tractor cruise. “We have a food court and there will be 7 or 8 food vendors,” Ingalls added.
The show also features a flea market that runs throughout the four days. “It’s quite a large flea market because we have more than 225 spaces,” Ingalls said. “But you never know what they will be bringing in and what you’ll find – until they all show up.”
Ingalls said that anyone who likes old machinery and tractors will love the show. “There will be something for everyone here,” he said.
The Michigan Flywheelers Antique Engine and Tractor Show runs Thursday, September 4 through Saturday, September 6 from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm., and on Sunday, September 7, the show runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
